Murky RiverThis photo was taken of the Huron River on Broadway. Besides the beautiful nature, I felt like the building in the background is a nice touch. Because it shows how in a city, though we might have nature, civilization is always near.
Twisted StumpsThe dead trees and ash brush is a reminder that there is beauty even in dead nature. Taken at the Nicholas Arboretum, it is one of the many landscapes present at the park. However, the lack of color and contrast may make most people overlook the scene.
Window RiverThis was also taken at the Arboretum and is another landscape. Though we normally associate blue water with a beautiful landscape, I feel as if the murky water gives the scene some character. The building is some new apartments put up downtown, creating a contrast between the two scenes in ann arbor.

Swirly Vine BuildingThis was taken right next to the Downtown library. I loved the look of the vines on the building. It looks like a man vs nature battle. Green & BrickI decided to do the opposite with this polyscape. Instead of nature as the background and city in the triangle, I put a building in the background and a plant in the triangle. I took this photo on campus, where there are many charming buildings. This one didn't have power lines in the way so I snapped a picture.
Running RedThe building is another architectural piece that I saw while I was on campus. Together with the tall trees in the background, I feel as if this image has an imposing mood. I tried to make the diamond the color of the red branches, which I also took at the the Arboretum.
