There's a couple things similar and different about my double exposure and selfie image. For one, they both have a blueish theme to them. That's pretty much where the similarities end. In my DE I'm facing away from the camera and in my selfie I'm looking right at it. My selfie is also a collage of photos while I only have one image laid over my DE, clouds, The mood of the images are also different. My DE is more solemn while my selfie is lighter/happier because I'm smiling. Lastly, the most obvious one, my DE has a quote and my selfie doesn't.
With this photo I was trying to convey items that are important to me. The first item I added to this photo was a book page to symbolize my love for reading. I thought to photograph my favorite book page, but then I realized I don't have a favorite book page. My next item represents a hobby I recently picked up, sewing. This was first fabric I ever used for a sewing project. Then, I added a picture of oatmeal. I did this because breakfast is my favorite meal and oatmeal is one of my favorite things to eat for breakfast. Beneath that, is a photo of a plant. This represents my love of nature and another new hobby, gardening. Lastly, is a necklace that was a gift from my mother, which is why it's important to me. Necklaces are also my favorite type of jewelry to wear. When editing this photo, I thought to put most of my additional images in the background, so that it didn't take away from my face. In Lightroom, I increased the exposure and decreased the red tones. As the blue was bringing out the red in my face so much, that I looked like a tomato. In hindsight, I wish I was wearing something different so that I didn't blend into the sky, as this photo has little contrast. I hope this image portrays the things I hold near.
