Checking the Blindspot |
I decided to photograph my younger sister, Khaleela. She is one of my dearest friends in the whole wide world, and is my biggest confidant. She's always there to give me support, and sometimes the much needed reality check. I don't have to explain myself when I'm with Khaleela because she just gets me. Unfortunately this also mean she can annoy me like nobodies business, but you know what they say everything in moderation :). I decided to take her picture in two places. The first picture is taken in front of shingling on our house. The second on top of a play structure in a park. The biggest challenge was capturing a photo without a distracting background. I had to get just the right angle, so the houses, trees, and other things wouldn't be in the picture. My greatest triumph was the framing of my sister. I tried to have her shoulders facing away just a bit so it wouldn't be a mug shot, but not so much that it looked unnatural.
